Dougie Hamilton, Timo Meier and Jack Hughes scored on power plays as the New Jersey Devils took advantage of Detroit’s NHL-worst penalty kill in a 5-4 victory over the Red Wings on Friday.

Devils Stefan Noesen and his teammates jabbed and poked their sticks at the loose puck, trying desperately to give New Jersey its first lead of the game against the Detroit Red Wings on Friday. Noesen and the Devils recorded five shots in six seconds in the second period before Noesen finally got the puck past goaltender Cam Talbot.

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Ben Chiarot lost control of the puck in the circle near his goaltender, and New Jersey Devils' Timo Meier pounced. View the original article to see embedded media. The power forward settled the puck down and passed it onto the tape of Nico Hischier's stick.
