In the case of Guardians' slugger Jhonkensy Noel, he might now have a household nickname. That's because Noel, aptly known as Big Christmas, came up with one of the biggest swings of the 2024 MLB playoffs on Thursday night against the Yankees.

The Guardians were down to their last out in Game 3 of the ALCS against the Yankees when Jhonkensy Noel came through with a towering two-run slam.

Noel, aka “Big Christmas,” took a 1-0 change up from Yankees pitcher Luke Weaver 404 feet for the longball with two outs to knot the score at five and keep the Guardians’ hopes alive in the critical playoff game. The Yankees currently lead the ALCS 2-0 after taking the first two games of the series in the Bronx.

After the Yankees went ahead on back-to-back homers from Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, the Guardians rallied with a pair of two-run blasts.

After a strong 7 2/3 innings from starting pitcher Matthew Boyd and the elite Cleveland bullpen, Emmanuel Clase entered for a four-out save in the eighth inning and blew it by allowing back-to-back homers from Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.
