Thousands of people reported issues with Microsoft 365 services, including Outlook, on Thursday afternoon, according to Downdetector. Just before 12 p.m., over 2,000 people had reported issues with Microsoft 365.

Microsoft's Outlook app is crashing for European users due to memory problems, Redmond has warned, and evidence suggests the problems are spreading to the US. "We're investigating an issue in which users in Europe may be experiencing crashing, not receiving emails or observing high memory usage when using the Outlook client," Redmond warned.

In addition to crashing the Microsoft Outlook desktop application, the bug was using a lot of system resources and preventing some users from accessing their accounts.

Microsoft says that its Outlook email service, the Teams teleconferencing app and the 365 subscription-based Office suite are all down. Downdetecor, a site that monitors online disruptions, shows that people began reporting the outages at around 11 a.

Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft 365 are currently at the end of an outage that prevented some users from accessing their email.
