Firstly, just last week, Android Authority reported that the Pixel Tablet 2 was in the works, boasting upgrades like a better camera, a more powerful processor, and compatibility with a keyboard cover — all significant changes over the original Pixel Tablet.

If this had arrived day and date with the original model, it would've been far easier to recommend the Pixel Tablet among its fellow mid-range tablets, like Samsung's $450 Galaxy Tab S9 FE from October of 2023, and, of course, the aforementioned iPad.

Google may return to tablets in the future with a unified ChromeOS & Android operating system. Google re-entered the tablet category in 2023 with the release of the Pixel Tablet.
