Manager Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham considered Ivan Toney before signing Dominic Solanke and fans should not "rush to judgement" on the £65m striker.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has defended record signing Dominic Solanke as the striker searches for his first goal for the club, confirming they also considered a move for Ivan Toney in the summer transfer window.

Toney was the other high-profile English forward on the market but he eventually joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli in a surprise move which means Spurs will not face him on Saturday when Brentford make the trip across the capital.
