The Storm Prediction Center has North Texas at a level 3, Enhanced Risk of severe storms. Very large hail, at least 2", along with damaging winds, are the main threats, but an isolated tornado can't be ruled out. Storms will develop out west and track east through the late afternoon hours.

Portions of the state may be in for severe weather with a chance of hail and even the potential for a tornado.

A severe thunderstorm watch in effect for part of the tri-state earlier has expired but it was just the precursor to a possibly stormy Saturday. It won’t be a washout with the showers expected to be more isolated than widespread but it will be worth being sky-aware.

New Jersey had a tornado touch down on Friday during multiple rounds of severe thunderstorms. The storm threat isn't as severe today.

Severe weather has delayed start times for Round 3 of the PGA Championship, which will use split tees off the first and 10th holes when play resumes at Quail Hollow.
