A 44-year-old New Hampshire man has died while hiking in the White Mountains after falling in icy conditions, according to state officials.

A New Hampshire man has died after falling during a hike in icy conditions on the White Mountains. According to The NH Fish and Game Department, officers were alerted around 6:30 p.m. on Friday about an overdue hiker from the Coppermine Trail area in Franconia.

Christopher Huyler’s body was found around 1 a.m. at approximately 2,800 feet in elevation, near a steep, icy slide in the Coppermine Brook valley, officials said.
