In the case of Guardians' slugger Jhonkensy Noel, he might now have a household nickname. That's because Noel, aptly known as Big Christmas, came up with one of the biggest swings of the 2024 MLB playoffs on Thursday night against the Yankees.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Rookie Jhonkensy Noel hit the game-tying two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Guardians new life and ultimately pull off their 7-5 victory over the Yankees in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series Thursday at Progressive Field.

Noel, aka “Big Christmas,” took a 1-0 change up from Yankees pitcher Luke Weaver 404 feet for the longball with two outs to knot the score at five and keep the Guardians’ hopes alive in the critical playoff game. The Yankees currently lead the ALCS 2-0 after taking the first two games of the series in the Bronx.
