The state of emergency allows authorities to bypass environmental regulations and expedite wildfire prevention projects.
The governor also directed CalHR to improve hiring of former federal employees to strengthen the state’s ability to respond to disasters and emergencies.
The California governor’s direction came just ahead of the March 7 deadline to finalize the rules of the legislation establishing a statewide EPR program.
