TPS beneficiary Rose-Myrlene Elmond with her daughter Jenny Bellus, 22 months old, talked about her situation Friday after a press conference called by the Family Action Network Movement to discuss the roll back of Haiti TPS by the Trump administration that will affect hundreds of thousands of Haitian families.
"We are not criminals… we are law-abiding citizens," community members said at a press conference in Little Haiti.
“When I was a child, we were taught to be proud to be Black,” said the Miami native who was born in Little Haiti. She recalled having conversations about history with her uncle and how her parents instilled in her the importance of knowing Black history.
