Bill Belichick pushed back with humbling admission over questions about his ego with the New England Patriots.

A jury acquitted New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers in his assault and battery trial. Peppers finished testifying earlier Friday by denying he choked or shoved his accuser.

On a podcast, Bill Belichick suggested the Super Bowl trophy should be named after seven-time champion Tom Brady, not Vince Lombardi:

Brady and Belichick won six Super Bowls together during their time together in New England and the quarterback great won a seventh with Tampa Bay in 2021.

With that in mind, Belichick suggested that the Lombardi Trophy be renamed after Tom Brady. After all, the decorated quarterback won an NFL-record seven Super Bowl titles in his career -- six with Belichick as his head coach with the New England Patriots and another with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

During Bill Belichick’s weekly appearance on SiriusXM’s “Let’s Go” podcast, he hinted that the NFL should rename the trophy after Tom Brady. The comment came during a discussion on whether players or coaches ultimately win games.
