Saquon Barkley is already in the record books thanks to his illustrious debut for the Philadelphia Eagles, becoming just the ninth player in NFL history to eclipse 2,000 rushing yards in a season this year.

But it turns out Barkley had better offers before agreeing to his three-year, $37.75 million contract with the Eagles. According to Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post, Barkley turned down “at least two” bigger offers before signing with Philadelphia.

Barkley was drafted No. 2 overall in 2018 by the Giants, who let him walk in free agency last offseason. The Eagles signed him and he put together the best season of his career. Barkley has run for 2,447 yards and 20 touchdowns through the regular season and playoffs.

The Giants let Barkley go to an NFC East rival, with whom he rushed for 2,000 yards and is playing in the Super Bowl.
