A video shot from a plane that appears to show the moment Elon Musk's Starship rocket exploded is going viral on X. Starship 8, which launched over the Caribbean on Thursday, exploded after what SpaceX described as an "energetic event in the aft (or rear) portion of Starship.

SpaceX lost contact with the Starship rocket minutes into its test flight on Thursday as it came tumbling down and broke apart.

During a test flight of Elon Musk's SpaceX spacecraft, the Starship broke apart and was videotaped from people along Florida's east coast.

Yet again, one of Elon Musk’s SpaceX rockets exploded on Thursday night, grounding flights across Florida as fiery debris fell from the sky. In its eighth test flight, the 400-foot rocket launched from Brownsville, Texas, and exploded shortly after experiencing engine failure upon reaching space and spinning out of control.
