Knicks Coach Tom Thibodeau Under Fire For Karl-Anthony Towns Decision in Celtics Loss
Following a two-point win in overtime at home against the lowly Chicago Bulls on Thursday, the Knicks suffered a 142-105 defeat on the road against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. The loss to the Cavaliers was the worst for Tom Thibodeau since he became the coach of New York in 2020.
“When Karl Anthony-Towns is on the court against any of the top-10 offenses in the league this season, the Knicks’ defensive rating is 127,” Tim Bontemps said. “The worst defensive rating in the league is 118. So to say that is bad is an understatement.”
Without Josh Hart and OG Anunoby — and still awaiting the return of Mitchell Robinson — the Knicks did just enough to avoid blowing a double-digit second-half lead.
