HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WAFF) - Fifty years ago on this day, the fall of Saigon marked the unofficial end of the Vietnam War. WAFF 48 spoke with Larry Bayer, who entered the Army in 1962 as a Second Lieutenant, and he retired in 1989 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Bayer did two tours in Vietnam, one ending in 1965 and the second ending in 1969.
