Demonstrators gathered in communities large and small. Many events on the East Coast have ended, but police clashed with some protesters in L.A.
Demonstrations in McAllen, Midland, Odessa, Austin and elsewhere in Texas were largely peaceful, as some protests went well into the night.
A Florida sheriff has issued a stern warning to protesters planning violence towards law enforcement officials as the United States braces for a wave of anti-Trump administration demonstrations.
“Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey’s violent and provocative threat to ‘kill’ protesters exercising their First Amendment rights is extremely un-American, and unbecoming for an elected leader sworn to protect the public,” the ACLU of Florida wrote on X.
"Scattered severe storms capable of large hail and isolated damaging wind gusts will be possible across parts of the central and northern High Plains Saturday afternoon and evening," said the SPC. "Marginally severe storms will also be possible in parts of southern and central Plains."
The Brevard demonstrations were peaceful and had minimal law enforcement presence or interaction between police and activists.
