A Chicago fire captain died in the line of duty on Wednesday while responding to a garage fire on the city's west side.

The Chicago Fire Department battled an extra-alarm fire ... the fire for hours with thousands of gallons of water from ladder trucks and from hoses attacking the blaze from multiple angles.
