Iowa quarterback Cade McNamara provided an update on his status via social media on Friday. "It has come to my attention that there are individuals in the media circulating rumors about my current status on the Iowa Football Team," McNamara posted. "My status is the same as it's always been- a proud member of this football team.

McNamara suffered a concussion in Iowa's 40-14 win over Northwestern back on Oct. 26th, and ever since then, he's been working his way back to action. While the initial expectation was that he could play against Maryland, the fact that he was mysteriously ruled out led to speculation about his future with the team.

Iowa football released a Friday statement on the statuses of quarterback Cade McNamara and defensive back Jermari Harris.
