The transaction, which aligns with Hyatt’s asset-light strategy, comes less than two weeks after the hotel giant acquired Playa Hotels & Resorts’ 15 all-inclusive assets.

Hyatt acquired Playa in a $2.6 billion transaction on June 17. After selling the real estate, Hyatt’s net cost to become the manager of Playa's resorts will be about $555 million.

Hyatt had entered into a deal to buy Playa, which operates 24 high-end, all-inclusive resorts across Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, for $2.6 billion including debt in February.
