The city of Portland is among a group of local governments that plan to file a lawsuit Friday challenging the Trump administration’s executive order targeting sanctuary cities. The lawsuit comes in response to steps President Donald Trump and his administration have taken to target cities and jurisdictions that don’t assist with federal immigration enforcement.

Portland will now join a coalition of local governments suing the Trump administration for executive orders and actions that harm sanctuary cities and states.
