It's already been a chilly week for the West Coast, with two storm systems traveling in from the Pacific Ocean, bringing snow, freezing rain and bitter temperatures. That's unlikely to abate in the coming two days for four West Coast states, with similar hazardous conditions expected in parts of the Northeast as well.

Wednesday, temperatures will drop through the day with the 60 degree high in the morning dropping to around 40 degrees, and by the time we get to Thursday, we could see our first brush with winter weather. There's the potential rain could be mixing with snow early next Thursday morning.

As fall passes and winter conditions begin to set in, several states will experience snow and wind gusts over the coming days as two systems brought in by an atmospheric river will hit the Pacific Northwest and then head down into the Mountain West states.
