Prolonged precipitation is expected across Wisconsin all day Tuesday into Wednesday evening. Moderate-to-heavy rain is in the forecast across the southern two-thirds of Wisconsin, including in the Milwaukee area.

The expected precipitation comes after Milwaukee recorded its seventh driest winter. Wisconsin is starting spring under drought conditions.

Wednesday morning temperatures start in the 50s and gradually fall into the 30s in the afternoon as the winds pick up.

Heavy rain has settled in over Southern Wisconsin, and will continue to affect the region throughout the overnight hours and well into our Wednesday. However, the core of low pressure responsible for all of this evening‘s rainfall will slowly make its way northeastward passing over Southeastern Wisconsin and transition our heavy and sustained rainfall into more of a wet snowfall by late tomorrow morning.
