The passage of an atmospheric river storm did not mean the end of the Bay Area's wet weather as steady rain continued to fall across the region Monday and there was a chance it could resume again on Thanksgiving Day.

In the East Bay, that likely means 1½ inches of rain will fall, and in the South Bay and Peninsula, about 1 to 1½ inches are expected, according to the weather service. Those totals would be significantly higher than those areas saw when the first wave of the storm arrived Wednesday.

An atmospheric river that blew into the Bay Area on Wednesday has dropped several inches of rain on the North Bay and is expected to spread further south through the region later this week, according to the National Weather Service.
