The Boston Bruins announced today, June 24, the club's official 2025 preseason schedule, which will begin on Sunday, September 21 when the Bruins take on the Washington Capitals at TD Garden at 5 p.m.

The Capitals, with star winger Alex Ovechkin expected to retire next spring, will open up the Bruins’ preseason in Boston, Sept. 21, at 5 p.m. The Flyers, who dealt for ex-Boston University standout Trevor Zegras on Monday, will be next in town, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m.

Mason Lohrei, whose growing pains on the Bruins’ blue line last season resulted in a league-worst minus-43 rating, on Monday cashed in way on the plus side with a two-year contract extension that will pay the 24-year-old an average of $3.

The Boston Bruins on Monday signed defenseman Mason Lohrei to a two-year, $6.4 million contract extension through the 2026-27 season.
