In an interview with FOX 4 Kansas City, Alex Moffett, 19, of Erie, Colo., explained how the country star, 46, took time to surprise her this past summer after she lost three generations — her grandmother, her father and her younger sister — in one day.

Back in June, 19-year-old Alex Moffett was the only survivor of a deadly car crash that killed her father, her grandmother and her sister. Now, she's continuing her recovery with a surprise moment of comfort from one of her favorite country artists.

Her father Derek Moffett, 55, and grandmother Patricia Moffett, 83, died at the scene in Warrensburg, Mo. She was airlifted to Research Medical Center in Kansas City from that crash along with her sister,

But unfortunately, they never made it to the show.
