Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum says that the president-elect’s threat to enact massive tariffs on Mexican imports would lead to mutually assured economic destruction.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Tuesday that Mexico would raise tariffs on imports from the United States if President-elect Donald Trump follows through on his threat to issue a 25% tariff on Mexican imports after taking office.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said she would send a letter to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday to urge dialogue and cooperation following his threat of across-the-board tariffs of 25% on Mexico and Canada.
