An IndiGo flight struggled to land in Chennai after the storm made landfall on Puducherry coasts on Saturday, resulting in the flight’s go-around.

Chennai airport announced suspension of operations till 4 am on December 1 following heavy inundation of runways and the taxiway

Chennai and nearby areas experienced heavy rains due to cyclone Fengal, disrupting transport services and prompting evacuations. While no major damage was reported, hospitals were inundated, and operations at Chennai airport were suspended.

Cyclone Fengal made landfall near Puducherry, bringing with it heavy rainfall and gusty winds, as torrential downpours flooded several parts of Chennai and left three people dead in the city.

The next 2 days are expected to have minimum temperatures hovering around 20-21 degrees, with maximum temperatures unlikely to exceed 25 degrees in Bengaluru.

Cyclone Fengal has started making landfall near Tamil Nadu's Puducherry at 5:30 PM on Saturday and it will take nearly four hours to complete. As a pre-emptive measure, the state government appealed to people to stay indoors and declared November 30 a holiday for educational institutions as a precautionary measure.

Cyclone Fengal made landfall on Saturday night between 10:30 pm and 11:30 pm IST, near Puducherry, with wind speeds of 70-80 km/h, gusting up to 90 km/h.

The cyclone, classified as a cyclonic storm with wind speeds of 65-75 km/h gusting up to 85 km/h, disrupted transportation across the region

Cyclone Fengal is set to make landfall in Tamil Nadu, bringing heavy rainfall and winds up to 90 km/h. The IMD has issued warnings for several districts, including Chennai, with disruptions expected in transport and flight operations.
