UConn Huskies star Paige Bueckers sent a message about potentially being drafted by the Dallas Wings franchise.

The Dallas Wings won the WNBA draft lottery Sunday and the chance to draft UConn star Paige Bueckers with the No. 1 pick.

The Dallas Wings have won the 2025 WNBA draft lottery, meaning they will pick first overall in April’s event. Dallas came into the lottery with favorable odds of landing the top pick. The Wings had a 22.7% chance at winning the lottery, trailing only the Los Angeles Sparks (44.2%).

“It's a lot of pressure because you don't want to get it wrong," said Luis Yebra, another Dallas Wings fan. "There's been a lot of stipulation coming into number-one picks only because the hype is big, doesn't mean it's a good player."

The Dallas Wings will be glad that Bueckers does still play — and plays well — as the Wings won the 2025 WNBA Draft lottery Sunday, allowing them to select Bueckers with the top pick in April. Hope has sprung in Dallas, but it might not take until May for Bueckers’ impact to be felt.

The Los Angeles Sparks, who had the top chance at 44 percent to get the top choice, will pick second, followed by Chicago and Washington.

Though the next WNBA season feels a bit distant, one storyline is already stealing the spotlight: the comparisons between reigning Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark and UConn redshirt senior Paige Bueckers.

Paige Bueckers remains the consensus top pick due to her elite scoring, playmaking, and leadership abilities. She's averaging 20 points, five rebounds, and 4.3 assists early this season, with a 60.4 field-goal percentage,
