Bruins GM Don Sweeney is open for business before the NHL Draft
BRIGHTON, Mass. — Only four NHL clubs were worse than the Boston Bruins in 2024-25. Jim Montgomery and Joe Sacco, the two coaches placed in charge this past season, are no longer around. The Bruins have just five forwards under contract for 2025-26.

The Bruins hold seven picks in this year’s NHL Draft, which begins Friday at 7 p.m., including the No. 7 pick in the first round. General manager Don Sweeney has made just two first-round picks since 2021: Dean Letourneau (25th overall in 2024) and Fabian Lysell (21st overall in 2021).
