A basketball card featuring the uniform logos and signatures of legendary players Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant sold for $12.9 million at the auction house’s Summer Platinum Night Sports sale in Dallas, Texas, on Sunday evening, setting a new world record in the process.

"Shark Tank" star investor Kevin O'Leary revealed Monday that he was one of three people to purchase a Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan collectible sports card for nearly $13 million at a Heritage Auctions event this past weekend.

Matthew Allen, Kevin O’Leary and Paul Warshaw won the card through Heritage Auctions early Sunday morning with bidding that pushed past the previous most expensive card ever sold — the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle #311 graded a “Mint-Plus” SGC 9.5 and dubbed the “finest known example” of that iconic card — by more than $300,000.
