A man has been jailed for life for murdering his brother-in-law and attempting to kill three other people during a “brutal and mindlessly violent” shotgun rampage on the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland.

Finlay MacDonald, who stabbed his wife then shot three people on and around Skye, was jailed for at least 28 years.

Finlay MacDonald, 41, murdered his brother-in-law and attempted to kill his wife and a married couple on August 10, 2022.
