Heavy rain and thawing snow will combine to create storm chaos on Sunday with the Met Office warning of possible flooding in several UK areas.

The Met Office has issued snow, ice, wind and rain warnings across the UK and said the low pressure system would be a 'multi-hazard event' following a cold snap. An amber alert for heavy snow and ice will be in force on Saturday from 7am until 5pm.

A flood alert has been issued in areas around Frodsham as Storm Bert continues to batter the country. The Environment Agency has warned of flooding to roads and low lying land, as heavy rainfall is forecast this weekend.
