The new-look UEFA Nations League (UNL) group stage is coming to a close, with much more at stake than you might think. In fact, you might say you need a degree in football administration to fully understand the machinations.

What's next in the Nations League? When are promotion/relegation play-off and quarter-final draws? Who is in them? When do Scotland, Republic of Ireland play?

The two teams are in Group 4 of the Nations League B. Turkey leads with 11 points, two more than Wales. Iceland is right behind with seven points, in addition to Montenegro with no points won in the last position.

There are three separate draws for the Nations League play-offs, beginning with League C/D. The two best-ranked fourth-placed teams from League C have a chance to avoid the drop and enter into ties against the two runners-up from League D, the bottom tier of the Nations League.

European champions Spain have been drawn against the Netherlands in the quarter-finals of the Nations League, while Germany will play Italy. France face 2023 Nations League runners-up Croatia and Portugal will play Denmark in the other two quarter-final ties.
