Moo Deng, a baby pygmy hippo, has become the internet’s latest craze. But what seems like unlikely celebrity has a simple explanation, scientists said: Her cuteness is hijacking our brains.

The 2-month old hippo has gone viral after the zoo shared videos of the charismatic animal eating, taking a shower and even nibbling — despite no teeth — on her caretaker's knees. Moo Deng was born on July 10 at the Khao Kheow Zoo in the Chonburi province, roughly an hour-and-a-half outside of Thailand's capital.
