You might not know this about me, but I’m a decently big fan of Saturday Night Live. I wouldn’t say I’m the type of person who stays up and watches it late at night because I’m an actual baby who goes to bed at ten almost every single time.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of "Saturday Night Live," NBC will show the first episode that aired on Oct. 11, 1975.

The performance is being described as one of Saturday Night Live 's best ever. Chris Farley and Norm Macdonald were two iconic Saturday Night Live comedians, both leaving lasting legacies on the show and in the world of comedy.

The all-star format had characters from different generations of “SNL” (plus one star who'd never been on before) join in classic sketches, songs, jokes and nostalgia.

Aykroyd did not provide a reason for missing the event. He was the sole living member of the original “SNL” cast who didn’t attend the anniversary show, which aired live on NBC and Peacock on Sunday, Feb. 16.

NBC is celebrating the legacy of “Saturday Night Live” on Feb. 15 with the first-ever “SNL” telecast airing at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT as well as an encore of presentation of the critically acclaimed documentary “Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music” to start the night at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
