Microsoft began laying off about 6,000 workers Tuesday, its largest job cuts in more than two years as the company spends heavily on artificial intelligence.

Although Microsoft did not name Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a cause of the axing, it undoubtedly has had a role to play.
