FORTVILLE, Ind. — Eleven Mt. Vernon Middle School students who were hospitalized or sent home last week after taking edibles during class could be facing expulsion, according to their parents.

Mt. Vernon Middle School administration was notified around 3 p.m. that a student had given classmates edibles and that a few students had begun “exhibiting symptoms”.

According to a release from the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation, 11 middle school students accepted and ingested the edible gummies and a few began showing symptoms.
