KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — An overnight Russian missile and drone bombardment of Ukraine killed 15 people and injured 156, local officials said Tuesday, with the main barrage demolishing a nine-story Kyiv apartment building in the deadliest attack on the capital this year.

An American citizen was among at least 16 people killed in a deadly overnight Russian strike on Ukraine's capital, officials said. Russian President Vladimir Putin's military launched 175 drones, 14 cruise missiles and two ballistic missiles against Kyiv and the surrounding area overnight,

It was the deadliest attack on the Ukrainian capital in almost a year, and came as Moscow has intensified air assaults on the city.
