With the Crimson Tide not playing Saturday in Atlanta, its campaign has begun for a spot in the 12-team field, even with three losses. UA athletics director Greg Byrne posted a pitch for Alabama online Monday, and on Tuesday, head coach Kalen DeBoer spoke on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show.

Kalen DeBoer knows Alabama’s College Football Playoff case isn’t cut and dry. The Crimson Tide just completed a roller coaster of a regular season, with plenty of ups, like that late September victory over Georgia and the November win at LSU. It also had plenty of downs, like the October loss at Vanderbilt and the November stinker at Oklahoma.
