Of the six major parties in the fray in these Maharashtra elections, Shiv Sena (UBT) had contested the greatest number of seats in Mumbai, 22.

Kalidas Kolambkar of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured the Wadala assembly seat in a first win for the party.

Much like its performance across major regions in Maharashtra, the Mahayuti did well in the Mumbai and suburban regions as well, leading in 26 seats. The MVA could only manage the lead in 11 seats.

Together, the Mahayuti coalition claimed 22 of the 36 seats in Mumbai, while the Maha Vikas Aghadi won 14. Notably, Sharad Pawar’s NCP was unable to secure a single seat in the city.
