TOKYO: A moderately strong magnitude-6.4 earthquake struck off the coast of central Japan on Tuesday night Nov 26), again rattling an area still traumatised by a devastating January jolt. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries and a tsunami alert was not issued.

Earlier on 1 January 2024, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Noto region, killing more than 370 people and damaging roads and other infrastructure.
