Storm Bert has transformed central and southern Scotland, under a blanket of snow. With some travel disruption, some children and dogs have been enjoying the cold weather.

The Met Office has issued snow, ice, wind and rain warnings across the UK and said the low pressure system would be a 'multi-hazard event' following a cold snap. An amber alert for heavy snow and ice will be in force on Saturday from 7am until 5pm.

Storm Bert is forecast to hit the UK on Saturday, bringing high winds, potential flooding and some snow. Disruption is expected over the weekend, with gusts of 40-60mph (65-96km/h) forecast in parts of Scotland,
