The SWAC is looking into allegations after an ESPN report that Jackson State football players and coaches received access to Arkansas-Pine Bluff practice film before the two teams played on Nov. 2. Jackson State says the case has been closed.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - The Southwestern Athletic Conference and Jackson State Athletics have both released a statement regarding JSU football allegedly stealing practice film from the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Jackson State crushed Arkansas-Pine Bluff 41–3 at home—seemingly clearing another hurdle on its way to a SWAC East division title. However, allegations have emerged that the victory may not have been what it seemed.

A UAPB player informed the coaching staff that he was told by a Jackson State player that Tigers defensive players were in their team facility watching practice film of UAPB ahead of their matchup earlier this month,

Jackson State didn't have any trouble beating Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a game the Tigers were firmly expected to win at the start of November. However,

Jackson State player mentioned Tigers’ defensive personnel were watching UAPB practice footage in their team facility. Alarmed by the claim, UAPB head coach Alonzo Hampton reviewed the team's video-sharing software and discovered that practice film had been accessed by the account of a former walk-on who was cut from the team in the spring.

The allegations against JSU reportedly came to light on Oct. 31, two days before the game. Jackson State defeated Arkansas Pine-Bluff 41-3.
