PITTSBURGH -- No one in Pittsburgh knows what the Steelers have in Will Howard better than Jack Sawyer. Sawyer was a team captain for the National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes and saw Howard work daily in Columbus.

Will Howard has been an underdog his entire career. A Pennsylvania kid, he had few offers coming out of high school, not even an offer from either of his home state teams, Penn State or the Pitt Panthers. He ended up heading to Manhattan, Kansas, to play for the Wildcats before transferring to Ohio State, where he would become a Buckeye legend.

Former Ohio State quarterback Will Howard has said before how glad he is the Pittsburgh Steelers took him in the 2025 draft, but he recently expounded on those comments during an episode of former Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger's podcast.
