Israel’s political and military leaders are considering plans for a fresh ground campaign that could include a military occupation of Gaza for months or more.

The Israeli army blew up the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital in central Gaza on Friday, in its latest attack on Gaza's health care system. A military statement claimed that Hamas had turned the hospital into a "terror infrastructure" -- without providing proof.
