Crossing Braddock Rd at 1.3 miles, the trail is now obviously a utility easement under the TECO power lines. This is where the first sign for the “TECO Auburndale Trail” appears. There is no shade, except in early morning when the wall of trees to the east helps block out the sun. Pass a bench with a 1.5 mile marker on it.

The Auburndale TECO Trail is a 7.3-mile paved trail running between Polk City and Auburndale. The Auburndale TECO Trail connects Polk City with Lake Myrtle in Auburndale, where it meets up with the General James A. Van Fleet Trail. At its northern end, the Polk City Trailhead (7683 Berkley Rd, Polk City) is shared with the Van Fleet Trail.

Head out on this 9.6-mile out-and-back trail near Auburndale, Florida. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 2 h 46 min to complete. This trail is great for road biking, running, and walking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.

The Auburndale TECO Trail connects Auburndale to Polk City and the Van Fleet State Trail. The trail runs 5.5 miles on an old Seaboard Railroad railbed and along TECO Energy power lines, parallel to Berkley Rd. (SR 655).
