Dell precision 5820 Ram upgrade
Apr 6, 2024 · Hi I am trying to upgrade ram on my dell precision 5820 tower. I got the crucial ram Product Name::64GB DDR4-3200 RDIMM 1.2V CL22. I followed the recommendation for the slot choice but the PC would not turn on and would do two orange lights and then five white lights, which means Invalid memory installed.

Apr 22, 2020 · Crucial RAM works fine plus they guarantee 100% compatibility and a limited lifetime warranty, but I am not sure why you picked the single memory module which you have to buy two versus the 16GB kit (2x8GB). I am sure the Dell product is fine but you can purchase the Crucial 16GB kit for less than the cost of a single memory module from Dell.

Aug 22, 2020 · Some people are not aware that you need to install them in pairs, one in each channel, else the RAM transfer speed is effectively halved. Also, and you may already know this: for the 2020 iMac, do not install the 8GB Apple RAM along with the 32GB Crucial RAM. Mismatched DIMM sizes just degrade the RAM speed/performance (for only the 2020 iMac).

I have a 32 gb pack of crucial ballistix ram and when I install them (no matter what I try, any combo of old and new ram, all new etc) as soon as I open the lid the kb lights up but no boot sequence starts. as soon as I put in the stock ram (2 8gb sticks) it boots fine.
