Aug 7, 2015 · On Windows 7 I had onscreen notifications, or whatever it's called, when pressing FN + Volume up or down for instance. On Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 only some of them works. FN + Volume up and down works, but FN + F9 and F10 for display brightness down and up does not. Neither does FN + F8 (sound off).

Dec 5, 2017 · Connect the power adapter before you begin. Click on Firmware Management and at the next window, click on firmware management. If the BIOS was updated, Rollback should be an option. If it is available, click on it to rollback to the previous version. This should probably resolve the Fn key issue you are having.

Sep 6, 2022 · This driver works. The only thing - it is not installed automatically (some kind of error). So i unpacked it manually, then went to win10->x64 folder and manually click on install HpqKbFiltr.inf file from context menu. After reboot all FN keys worked. Thanks a lot.

If the Fn key did not work with the function keys to change the brightness, boot your laptop into BIOS, check if there is a setting in there to switch between Function keys and Action keys.
