Feb 10, 2025 · The UCard Department is the part of the Bursar’s Office that issues, manages and supports the UMass Amherst UCard, the official campus photo identification card. The UCard Department also manages and supports the UCard Debit Account, the optional debit plan associated with the UCard, and used to make purchases on and off-campus.

The UCard—The UCard is the official UMass Amherst campus photo identification card. There is a student version for undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education students, an employee version for faculty and staff, and a third version for qualifying NENS (non-employee, non-student).

The UCard Debit Account is a UMass Amherst declining balance debit account. It is provided as a convenience to UMass community members, and is not intended as a replacement for cardholders' normal credit or debit cards.

The UCard is your University of Massachusetts Amherst ID card. Your UCard can be used as confirmation of identity on campus, as a PVTA bus pass and as your library card.

Using the UMass GET web site, you can make VISA, MC, Discover, or American Express card deposits to a student or employee UCard Debit Account. These cards must be issued by a U.S. bank or financial institution.

Come to the UCard Office during normal hours of operation (Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm) to get a replacement UCard. If you find an older UCard that you had replaced, please destroy it, as it will never again work in our system.
