There are several options in larger scales, but few in N scale (and these are quite expensive). The typical plastic tree armatures that are used to add flocking to don't look realistic to me, even when painted.

There are a bunch of different way to have structures. Pre-built, 3d printed, kit like model car/plane, wood kits, ones you print on paper and glue together on plastic or card stock.
